With Spring Break approaching, you may be thinking of what to do locally or maybe even planning for a road trip. Here are some Spring Break Ideas to ensure you have a fun filled week.
Get started early on my Austin Summer Bucket List! With an endless supply of fun things to do in the Austin metro, you better get started now.
This is the best time of year to get outdoors to explore all the parks and trails in our area. Check out this list of Best Local Hikes. You could pick a new one every day and take care of your whole spring break. Just a short drive away is Hamilton Pool where you can hike and even take a swim if you’d like to brave some chilly waters. Krause Springs is also another nice place to visit for a swim, but I imagine it might be pretty chilly this time of year.
If you are having a little guilt about not being able to break away from work or spend a fortune on entertainment, how about just having an afternoon ice cream treat. See how many Austin Ice Cream spots you can try during spring break.
Sometimes parents gotta have fun too. This is a fun Day Trip the whole family can enjoy, a trip to Flat Creek Estate Winery. They have wine tasting of course, but they also have a nice bistro with wood fired pizza, a beautiful outdoor patio for dining and even a professional frisbee golf course. There are also a ton of family friendly wineries in Johnson City and Fredericksburg that offer picnic tables, corn hole and just plenty of space to run and play.
Paddle Boarding is a fun family activity that would be perfect to do during spring break before it gets too hot. You can pack a picknik for Zilker Park or try one of the many nice downtown restaurants to make a whole day of it.
There are tons of fun little towns within an hour or two of the Austin metro. Why not take a one or two night road trip to explore some of these fun small towns? Take a look at some of the Small Town Road Trips we have done.
