Lake Travis isn’t just a place to spend hot summer days on a boat. It’s beautiful any time of year. Bob Wentz Park is the perfect place to enjoy the shimmering water and the cool breeze while the kids threw pebbles into the water. Bring a book and soak up the winter rays.

Bob Wentz Park is comprised of two areas, a shoreline area (including a sandy peninsula known as “The Point”) and an adjacent 150-acre tract is maintained as a natural area. The park includes two sand volleyball courts, a shoreline walking path, a boat ramp and a pavilion available for rent. There are also other amenities such as barbecue grills, shade covered picnic tables, restrooms and showers. There is a per car admission of $10. If you have Senior Citizen with you, like we did, everyone is free. Thanks mom!
From the Point at Bob Wentz Park you can see across the lake to The Oasis, which is a much different perspective than being at The Oasis looking down. Here is a picture taken from The Oasis at sunset on Christmas Day last year. The restaurant and shops were closed that day, but there were still plenty of sightseers there snapping this famous scene.

There are several other parks along the north and west sides of Lake Travis for Cedar Park residents to easily access. The closest park to Cedar Park is Cypress Creek Park located at 13601 Bullick Hollow Rd. This park was all but deserted a couple years ago during the drought. There wasn’t a spec of water in sight. Now the park is waterfront property with a boat ramp and beautiful views!
With one park entrance fee day pass, you can visit all the Travis County parks on Lake Travis.
Windy Point Park is also another lakefront park with beautiful views. Located next to Bob Wentz Park, this park is not part of the Travis County Parks system, so a different entry fee is required. Windy Point Park offers tent camping sites, a groomed lawn and abundant shade trees. There are also restrooms, showers & dressing rooms.
