Cedar Park Senior Living

Cedar Park Senior Living 55+

There are a lot of great options for Cedar Park Senior Living. Many older adults will choose to leave the high maintenance life of homeownership and trade it in for a relaxing stress-free active adult community. Luckily Cedar Park and the surrounding areas have a wide variety of communities to choose from, but finding the right one can be a bit overwhelming.

The good news is that it’s a lot easier than you think to make a transition, with the right team of professionals assisting you along the way. If you are assisting a loved one, either locally or from a far, sometimes managing the logistics of it all can be a challenge. That’s where a vetted and reliable team of professionals come in to make the transition less stressful.

As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) myself, I am certified and experienced in assisting home owners with the downsizing and moving process. I understand that it can be a stressful and emotional experience and there are a lot of things to consider and coordinate. I work closely with my clients to ensure that the move is a smooth and stress-free process. My trusted team of professionals from downsizing experts, movers, contractors, financial services, medicaid and legal consultants and everything in between, are ready to serve with the grace and dignity seniors deserve.

Senior Lifestyle Communities:

Senior lifestyle communities are age restrictive to 55+ and can consist of standalone houses, townhomes, and condos. These communities are typically larger and have many amenities for an independent active lifestyle. Some have clubhouses, tennis courts, swimming pools, and sometimes golf courses. Designed for safety in mind these communities have secure entry and exit points, well-lit sidewalks, and wheelchair accessible buildings. Outdoor maintenance is often included so residents don’t have to worry about mowing their lawn. Unfortunately, there are no 55+ communities in Cedar Park but there are a few in the surrounding Austin area.

Sun City Texas – Georgetown
Kissing Tree – San Marcos
Heritage at Vizcaya – Round Rock
Heritage Oaks – Georgetown
Tuscan Village – Lakeway
Oaks at Wildwood – Georgetown
Tuscan Village at Horseshoe Bay

Senior Apartments:

Senior apartments are age restricted apartment communities of 55+ that do not provide personal care or medical care assistance. These are great for those who want that independent lifestyle but don’t want to deal with home ownership tasks. Residents are expected to do their own grocery shopping, cooking, and laundry. You can bring your own furniture to make it feel like your own home! Many of these communities can include club houses, tennis courts, pools, game rooms, and other social activities.

Independent Living:

Another great option for senior living in Cedar Park are independent living communities. They are similar to 55+ communities except they offer services like housekeeping, transportation, and meal preparation. They do not offer personal care or medical assistance, but they do put on educational, recreational, and social activities for those who want an active low maintenance lifestyle. If you enjoy being around people and would like to be more active in the community and in life, it might be a good time to consider a move to an active retirement community.

Assisted Living:

Assisted living communities are great for those who still want to keep their independence but might need more help with some daily tasks. These communities have staff members on site 24 hours a day to help with activities of daily living. They offer tasks like bathing, getting dress, and managing medications. They do offer personal care but do not offer regular skilled medical assistance. Each community is different for what they offer so its best to call around and see which one fits your needs best.

Nursing Home:

If you or someone you know is in need of personal care and skilled medical assistance then nursing homes are the best option for round the clock care. Nursing homes have skilled medical staff onsite at all times to assist those who are recovering from injury, illness, or medical events like a stroke. They focus more on medical needs than lifestyle services, thus offering fewer amenities.

Memory Care:

Memory Care is a special senior living dedicated to those with Alzheimer’s or a similar form of dementia. These facilities focus on giving these seniors a good quality of life while keeping them safe. The benefits of a memory care facility include specialized dinning programs, life enrichment activities, and specialty care givers in a safe and secure environment. There are many memory care facilities in Cedar Park and some may be attached to nursing homes.
