Flat Creek Winery is located in the scenic Texas Hill Country just minutes from Cedar Park. Flat Creek Winery makes for an excellent day trip with out of town guests or just a fun spot to go when you are looking for a weekend adventure.
The picturesque winery will make you feel like you have hopped over to Italy’s Tuscan countryside. The beautiful stone buildings with archways framing the Hill Country landscape perfectly combine the feelings of Italy with the natural beauty of Texas.
There are not too many wineries in Texas that also offer a full service restaurant. We are very lucky to have this fantastic restaurant and winery so close to home. The Bistro dining room is open Thursday through Sunday, with brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The Bistro features wood fired pizzas and gourmet cheese boards in addition to delicious menu items such as crab cakes and burgers. They also offer a seasonally inspired tasting menu perfectly paired with Texas Wines. Reservations are required, so be sure to call ahead. 512-267-6310
The tasting room at Flat Creek is beautiful too. They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating perfect for groups or for two. Two of my favorite Flat Creek wines that perfectly capture Texas are their Super Texan red and their Viognier white. For non Texas wine drinkers, you will appreciate how well these wines are made. For those of you familiar with Texas wines, you will taste the nuances of the wines that make them totally Texas.
Another unique feature of this winery is their Disc Golf Course. It’s a fun place to go with a couple friends or even with clients or work associates for a team building outing. Purchase a Wine & Disc or Dine & Disc Package to double your fun. If you don’t own a disc golf frisbee, no worries, they have a full pro shop with everything you need. Be sure to check their website for Tournament dates as the course will be closed to the public those days.
An entire day trip can be made by visiting Flat Creek Winery. Start off the morning playing some disc golf, then eat a nice lunch at the Bistro and top it off with a truly Texas wine tasting experience. Plan ahead for a class or group winery tour and tasting. Check their website for details.
While you are out that way, you can also take a scenic drive through Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and maybe even see a roadrunner or some longhorns along the way.
