Take the Metro Rail from Lakeline station and get off at Plaza Satillo, which is within walking distance of many Live Music venues. There are tons to choose from, but here are a few to get you started,

Antone’s Nightclub
305 E 5th St in Austin
Welcome to Austin’s Home of Blues! This is a sweet local spot for live blues and other acts. You’ll see brilliant performers and musical legends such as John Primer and Langhorne Slim; you can almost feel the history! The staff at the door are funny; they really know how to entertain people. They have 7 days of live music here, including Tuesday nights’ open mic night–and trust me, you will find at least one day you’ll like. Acoustics are good, but when the place fills with people there’s also plenty of room on their dance floor for them to party with good music.

The 04 Center
2701 S Lamar Blvd in Austin
This is a great venue to see a show and have an intimate experience with music. The building was once the Austin New Church, which became The 04 Center after its transformation into a listening room. They bring in high-quality musicians from all over the world! The place has a full bar, and if you reserve a table, they will bring it to you using the app. They also have excellent acoustics, and there are no bad seats! The view and sound are amazing.

Round Rock Live Music is hopping too, especially in Downtown Round Rock. The City of Round Rock has done a fantastic job in the last 10 years revitalizing its old town into a thriving city center with shopping, dining, live music, and more. It has an artsy vibe too. Check out Music on Main Spring 2023 at the Prete Main Street Plaza stage every Wednesday from March 22-June 28, 2023 for free live music, entertainment, and spring activities.

Round Rock Amp
3701 N Interstate Hwy 35 in Round Rock
This is one of the coolest outdoor live music venues and concert halls in Austin. It’s located on the outskirts of the city and is known for hosting indie bands, up-and-coming acts, and local favorites. The VIP Grove provides good acres of seating and a good view of the stage. The venue also has an outdoor stage that hosts performances during the summer months. The bar service is fast; they also have a few food trucks if you want something to eat or a snack. There are plenty of porta potties with hand wash stations throughout the venue grounds so there’s no need to worry about cleanliness or sanitary conditions!

The Water Tank
7309 McNeil Dr in Austin
This is a fantastic outdoor beer garden with a full bar, featuring a fabulous selection of craft beers. They do wonderful crawfish boils during the season and have absolutely fantastic patio area, partially covered by huge umbrellas and awnings with misters, several fans, and a nice stage too! They are dog-friendly and have a dog park at the back with a bunch of dog toys, a faucet for water, and multiple dog bowls around the patio area. You will also surely love the live bands, karaoke nights, and cheering on the local soccer team. Everyone will have fun dancing or singing along!

The Flats
205 N Mays St in Round Rock
This is a great spot for a drink and some good music after long days of work. There’s an indoor and an outdoor bar with seating, a huge lawn, and tons of tables. They serve cold and fresh beer; McConauhaze on tap is one of their specialties. There are plenty of games and activities for first dates and an amazing and spacious patio; live music is performed here as well. Food trucks are on site each night, too.

But if you want something exciting but don’t want to go all out at first, try going to one of the smaller events in Cedar Park or downtown Austin such as open mic nights or local talent competitions. These are great ways to get into the swing of things without spending too much money or time on planning.
