Lake Travis, on the NW outskirts of Austin, TX is a popular destination for those looking to enjoy the outdoors in the Texas Hill Country. The scenic lake features some of the most spectacular truly Texas scenery. Lake Travis is one of a series of Lakes along the Lower Colorado River that meanders through Central Texas. Each dammed up section of the river is named as a lake, with Lake Travis being just one. Other lakes along the river in the Austin metro are Lake Austin and Lady Bird Lake downriver.  There are plenty of Things to do on Lake Travis as it is the largest in the area and made for recreation. This is one place you won’t want to miss if you are visiting Austin.
