The CedarView mixed-use development, where construction has visibly advanced on retail and hotel components, has been received with mixed feeling from locals as acres of farm land and trees were completely removed. The City of Cedar Park did work with developers to save large trees and safely store them off site to be replanted later on site along with a required number of new trees.

New Developments Accelerate Growth in Cedar Park, Texas

The main anchors of the CedarView development are Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) and SCHEELS Cedar Park. Another major component of this development is the new Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Groundbreaking occurred recently for this nearly 300-room facility which will include extensive event space, dining options and hospitality amenities that aim to attract visitors and support local tourism and business events. All of these attractions will be a major boost to the City’s tax revenues, which helps to offset the tax burden to homeowners, something many suburban areas struggle to do, but the City of Cedar Park has long-ranged planned to do. Well done!

More Entertainment and Destination Developments are also underway in Cedar Park. Cedar Park’s growth in the entertainment and leisure sector is not only good for tax revenue, but also offers residents a higher quality of life not found in many suburban areas. This combined with an abundance of parks, trails and green spaces really sets Cedar Park apart and is why it’s such a desirable place to live.
